Southern Stories grew from a compulsion to give voice to our new generation of Southern storytellers, and bring to Georgia exciting and emerging talent in front of and behind camera.
We understand our duty to build on the legacy and traditions of the giants of both literature and screenplays from our part of the world, but to do it in a way that shines a light on the hopeful possibility of change for good.
By amplifying that light on every screen we can get it to, we want to play our part in ensuring that our stories always include those from women, working class and minority points of view to be both seen and heard, in a pathway to nurturing the foundations of long, illustrious careers for all our colleagues, with Southern Stories and beyond for every sort of storyteller and the people who realise that vision.
We’re looking and listening. We’re reading and pondering. We’re enjoying ourselves.
